Jonathan Stack

Jonathan Stack is an artist from Kerry, Ireland. In 2020 he completed a level 5 course in Art, Craft an Design from Colaiste Stiofain Naofa and a course in creative writing from the Cork college of FET. He co-wrote, directed, shot and acted in a short film which went on to be screened internationally. He is currently in the final year of his BA in fine art from the Crawford College of Art and Design. Stacks' practice spans painting, drawing, photography, mould making and video work. His work is concerned with themes of irish identity, queer kinship, spirituality and the irish landscape.

Stack has said that he's “interested in exploring and reflecting the variety of experiences that happen to me as a young person coming of age at this exact time in history” In his recent work he has been exploring laser cutting and the old irish coming of age ceremony ‘boolying’.
